A new partnership with Cavell

The Trustees of the Burdett Trust for Nursing are delighted to announce a new partnership with Cavell. From October 1st Cavell will be delivering hardship support on behalf of the Junius S Morgan Benevolent Fund.

The charity, which is a subsidiary charity of the Burdett Trust for Nursing, was established in 1890 by policyholders of The Royal National Pension Fund for Nurses in memory of one of its founders, Mr Junius Spencer Morgan. The Junius S. Morgan Benevolent Fund has made thousands of grants to members of the nursing profession to help them when they have needed it the most.

Cavell is a charity supporting UK nurses, midwives and nursing associates, working and retired, when they’re suffering personal or financial hardship and crisis. This new partnership offers huge benefits to applicants who will be supported by a team of staff at Cavell who can offer holistic support to nurses and midwives who find themselves in financial hardship.

Alan Gibbs Chair of the Burdett Trust for Nursing said:

“We are absolutely delighted to be working with Cavell to deliver hardship support in future. I am truly grateful for the team at Burdett who have done an excellent job to date. This opens a new chapter for the Junius S. Morgan Benevolent Fund which will greatly enhance the support received by those who need it most.”

All details are on the Junius S. Morgan Benevolent Fund website which will redirect enquiries to Cavell.

The team at Burdett will continue to stay engaged with the causes of financial hardship and ways in which we can work collectively to address these issues. We are committed to working in alliance with all the nursing charities who provide hardship support, and we will remain active members of the Benevolence Services for Nurses and Midwives group.
