New Programme Director for the Nursing Now Challenge

The Burdett Trust for Nursing is delighted to welcome Professor Gemma Stacey as the new Programme Director for the Nursing Now Challenge.

The Nursing Now Challenge creates leadership opportunities for student and early-career nurses and midwives worldwide, working with global partners to strengthen the nursing and midwifery workforce.

Professor Stacey succeeds Professor Aisha Holloway, recently appointed Scotland’s Chief Nursing Officer. Selected from a very strong field of applicants, she will lead the next phase of this global movement, helping nurses and midwives develop their voice and influence policy at every level.

She joins on secondment from Nottingham Trent University where she is Associate Dean for Practice in the School of Social Sciences.

“I’m honoured to join the Nursing Now Challenge at such a pivotal moment for global health.
Early-career nurses and midwives are the future, and I’m passionate about creating opportunities that empower them to lead change in their communities and beyond.”
